JustDave's Simple Sheets

About JustDave's Simple Sheets

My name is Dave, and this is a one-person project. It started as a set of draft sheets I built for my own leagues because everything else I could find buried the answer under three hundred words of hedging. It has since become something more useful: a start/sit sheet published every week of the season.

What this site is

One page, updated weekly, that tells you whether to start a player and gives you one sentence explaining why. Three verdicts — Start, Monitor, Sit — and nothing else to interpret. Alongside it, a short set of weekly takes that argue positions the consensus does not hold, each built on a number rather than a feeling.

How the calls get made

Every injury status, matchup and role change is checked against current, dated reporting before it goes on the sheet. Nothing is written from memory, because rosters move constantly and a wrong team next to a player's name costs more credibility than a wrong start/sit call ever will. Where a fact is surprising, it gets confirmed against a second source before publication.

When a call genuinely depends on a Sunday inactive list, the sheet says Monitor rather than pretending to know. That is deliberate. A sheet that commits to everything is a sheet that is guessing at something.

What this site is not

It is not a projection engine, and it does not claim to be right. It is one person's read, shown with enough of the reasoning that you can disagree with it on the merits. You know your roster and your league better than any sheet does — overrule it whenever the reason does not persuade you.

Questions, corrections and arguments are all welcome at dave@gojustdave.com. If you think a call is wrong, tell me why — that is the most useful mail I get.
